Video Games
I have created multiple video games in the past. My best creation no doubt was "Palanion", a browser/text based strategy game
which was played by over fourty players simultaneously during a boyscout meeting.
In the months leading up to this day, I had been working many hours, and played the game many more with my friends at university.
With the help of my friend Bram Thijssen I could complete the game on time and everybody involved had an amazing experience.
Unfortunately the only working example of my game making that remains is my game-maker project from university: Tank Command.
Boardgames
Since a young age I have been obsessed with boardgames. During my time as a boyscout leader I would often turn boardgames into multiple-meeting indoor/outdoor games which were always a great success.
Now my girlfriend and I just love to invite friends over for a dinner and a good round of games.
Our current favourites are:
Kendo
Kendo is "The Way of the Sword", a traditional Japanese martial art where people try to score points by hitting the armor of the other with a bamboo stick.
The amazing hospitality and friendlyness of Kendo practitioners around the world have allowed me to travel and visit many kendo clubs around the world.
It is an amazing opportunity to get to know people through the crossing of swords.
Practicing since starting university in 2003, I have achieved the grade of 4th dan.

Naginata
Atarashi Naginata is the sports version of the martial art of the Japanese Halberd. It is similar to kendo in the way that two players try to score points
by hitting the other on the striking areas of the armor. The difference is in the type of weapon, and the way the body is used in order to move it around.
While I started naginata around the same time as kendo, I took a long break while traveling and living abroad, as naginata is far less popular.
In 2016, I co-founded the McGill Student Naginata Club with Marija Landekic, the captain of the Canadian Naginata Team and have achieved the grade of 2nd dan.
